For over 28 years across the globe, Tim Andrews has served World Vision International in uplifting children from poverty through sustainable health, WASH, education, food security, and resilient livelihood programs. Tim has been instrumental in developing World Vision Tanzania Smallholder Farmer Strategy, establishing the governing Joint Steering Committee, and operationalizing the Three-in-One program. After eight years serving as the National Director, World Vision Tanzania (WVT) and as the Board Chair, VisionFund Tanzania, Tim has accepted a GAFCo full-time position as Chief Development Officer as of January 8, 2018, with primary responsibility for these three strategic objectives:
- Lead efforts to raise and administer grant funding, and collaborate in efforts to raise commercial funding, for GAFCo and the Three-In-One model.
- Develop and manage GAFCo’s key non-commercial relationships, including with the Tanzanian government, other government representatives, bilateral and multilateral organizations, NGOs, academia, and media, both domestically and internationally.
- Steward GAFCo’s mission, ensuring that the company’s strategy and operations are aligned with its board-approved mandate to improve the lives of smallholder farmers, and achievements are scientifically documented and marketed.
Tim’s immediate focus will be to review potential donor organizations, considering compatibility of mission, to prioritize grant opportunities for GAFCo to pursue, while also developing a common grant-raising strategy with World Vision and VisionFund, where each supports the others’ goals, conducting joint fundraising where appropriate.
We welcome Tim to the GAFCo team, as together with our Three-in-One strategic partners and donors, strive to uplift children out of poverty by building capacity and increasing incomes of farming households.
